Support engineer work a broad spectrum of technical issues and provide solution to complex issues or work with leadership to provide support in resolving issues in private cloud & on process improvement or strategic initiatives
Provide support to deploy, automate, maintain and manage OpenStack cloud based production system, to ensure the availability, performance, scalability and security of productions systems
Involve in system troubleshooting and problem solving across Unified private platform and application domains
Study existing technology landscape and understand current application workloads. define Migration strategy to move application to cloud
Suggest architecture improvements, recommending process improvements
Evaluates new technology options and vendor products
Provide support and to ensure the availability, performance, scalability and security of productions systems
Bachelors Computer science or higher
Total 7+ years of IT working experience with 3+ years of relevant working experience as a Cloud Engineer / Cloud Support Engineer on Openstack with strong knowledge on deployment, support and implementation of Private cloud.(Ubuntu, Redhat, Suse –any one)
3+ years of Experience on Openstack cloud administration, management and support
Information Technology / Data Science
Install latest updates and maintain up-to-date Operational System software’s, drivers, firmware and patches in Private cloud Infrastructure
Provide cloud solutions which includes Configuration Management, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), Release Management and to implement Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) to quickly deliver code to customers.
Provide technical assistance for enterprise solutions and cloud services. Participate in migration of cloud clients within data centres.
Install and configure web and DB solutions.
Maintain user’s accounts, VPN user details and change requests.
Analyze and resolve issues relating to user, projects and group logins in Openstack. Create and update user IDs and security group tasks.
Analyze and resolve problems relating to cloud and virtualization in Openstack cloud.
Document detailed technical designs for cloud deployments. Support hosting sites and evaluated new cloud based technologies
Troubleshoot and resolve complex, critical and prioritize technical issues, define and track bugs and offer creative solutions
Developing Docker Images to support development and testing teams and their pipelines.
Environment provisioning solutions using docker. Deployment and operations of containers using Docker, Kubernetes.
Automate the build and deploy activities with Shell scripting or Python. Code review and Peer testing. Incidents (Tickets) Handling.
Enhancement in compliance with client standards and procedures.
Work on critical, highly complex customer problems that may span multiple services
Work directly with Cloud architects to help, reproduce and resolve cloud-Openstack related issues
Assist in incident management including problem resolution and tracking problems
Troubleshooting and performance maintenance virtual and physical servers in several geographically dispersed hosted data centres
Provide proactive communication to the customer/stakeholders base for wide scale service affecting problems
Provide fast value-add responses to inbound tickets from customers, acknowledging receipt and providing next steps to the customer through both written and verbal channels
Utilize monitoring tools to proactively identify problems with systems, applications, and networks in private cloud
Utilize DevOps methodologies and work with application developers to guide the development and implementation of Cloud applications, systems and processes
Work closely with Enterprise software support services and professional services resources to ensure proper escalation of casework
Provide initial assessment and possible workaround of production issues
Participate in incident management and communications, including follow-up with problem resolution and process improvement
Perform the operational support, maintenance & optimization of network, hardware, software and communication links of the cloud infrastructure
Skills and Qualifications
Working experience to manage or provide support for the overall Private Cloud environment including server instance, storage instances, subnets, availability zones, etc. validate the environment to meets all security and compliance controls
Good working experience in Linux environment and UNIX/Linux administration
Experience on Key Openstack services.
Expertise in creating DevOps strategy in an environment of Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) VM’s along with Openstack Services.
Manage & support to high availability environment for application servers and database servers. Deployment and management services in Openstack
Expertise in version control tools like GIT.
Gitlab and SVN administration and command line usage of GIT.
Knowledge on Configuration and Deployment tool like Packer, Terraform and Ansible
Good Experience in containerization like Docker and Kubernetes.
Evaluating and advising or support on virtualization and containerization solutions.
Strong verbal skills, ability to stay resilient under pressure
Strong analytical skills with ability to assess dependencies, risks, issues, etc.
Broad technical knowledge of cloud, IT Infrastructure services, including security, directory services, identity management, network, systems, storage and storage gateways, databases, NAT, PKI, VPN etc. Knowledge of load balancing, clusters, building scalable systems
Knowledge of system test performance paradigms in cloud environment. Strong Linux command-line and troubleshooting skills in Openstack
Ensured critical system security through the use of best in class cloud security solutions
Strong problem-solving skills and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure issues and ability to follow projects throughout the completion.
Openstack certification is preferred. Other technical certifications will be added an advantage.
All positions are on fixed term contract on a full-time basis exclusively for ReBIT, initially for a period of three years, extendable by mutual consent.
