The HRI is expected to be an independent thinker who can lead with novel and trendsetting ideas in use of technology for enhancing the role of RBI as regulator. The R&I vertical is responsible for supporting various RBI departments on promoting innovation through development and promotion of interoperable technology standards, and APIs and engage in technology and cyber-security and banking technology-related policy research. The role will be responsible for building a world class research team, will focus on awareness and competency development for the sector, ensure efficient information sharing amongst the pertinent stakeholders, and support the incidence response capabilities.


Job Duties:

  • Advise stakeholders on design, user experience and support development of modern technology architecture for the regulator.
  • Act as a think-tank for innovation, big systems and new ideas in the financial sector and make recommendations to RBI for implementation of IT solutions to enhance the robustness and safety of the Indian Financial System.
  • Participate in deliberations of IT Standard setting bodies to achieve robust and inter-operable Standards for the Indian Financial Sector.
  • Commission or facilitate high quality research in various IT related areas pertaining to the financial Sector with focus on Cyber Security and render advice to RBI for IT Security including Cyber Security related aspects.
  • Provide consultancy, information processing, hardware, software and network system management as well as business advisory services related to Cyber Security, statistical, scientific or mathematical information and reports, data processing, preparing, collection and data of every kind and description, systems or aiding commerce, industry, scientific and research problems and for all other related businesses
  • Awareness and competency development for the sector through various mediums engaging with industry peers and stakeholders
  • Lead the team of professionals those having diversified technical skills and competencies including hiring, training and performance management

  1. Qualification: For the HRI role, the candidate should be a graduate in Engineering / Information Technology related subjects, such as, Computer Science, Electronics, Communication Engineering, and Systems Management. A post graduate qualification in above areas / Management would be an added advantage. Formal qualification in post graduate program in Business/Data Analytics/Science from reputed institutions is desirable.
  2. Experience: For the post of HRI, a minimum of 15 years’ relevant experience in IT or Financial industry would be desirable, out of which at least five years should be as head of respective functional areas in IT or Financial Services companies of repute.

In addition to the above, following criteria would also apply.

  • Candidate should have hands-on experience in Data Analytics projects both in the capacity of delivery and leading a team of data scientists, and data modelling specialists.
  • Candidate must have proven subject matter expertise in executing Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML)/Robotic Process Automation (RPA) projects and possessing strong program management skills. Experience in the BFSI sector will be an added advantage.

Candidate should have experience in budget management, as well as experience in managing dynamic demands from stakeholders and influencing top management through strong relationship building.
