
ReBIT’s Digital Onboarding of New Recruits
ReBIT’s workforce adopted the remote working model with the announcement of lockdown in Maharastra in mid-march, to observe social distancing and prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections. Our ‘Work from Home’ model continues to ensure business continuity, including the honoring of employment offers on mutually agreed dates and digital onboarding of new recruits. ReBIT’s HR team has spearheaded this initiative with the able support of IT infrastructure team. Some of ReBIT's core values like Innovation, Excellence and Collaboration to meet employee needs (both new and old) were reinforced.
Support team members and new recruits share their unique experiences from the digital onboarding process in a candid conversation with M.D.S. Prabu.
Ranjani Chandru, Senior Manager and HR Business Partner, ReBIT: “We initiated the digital onboarding process to ensure that commitments made to new-joiners were honored. This process also ensured business continuity in meeting the demands of the different verticals of ReBIT.” While discussing about the challenges in this process, she said that it had to be ensured that the communication was clear. Hence, the support teams made sure that there were no ambiguities in this remote process via constant updates and clarifications. The WhatsApp channel created for the new joiners was active for a month before their date of joining and the HR team also included the finance and IT team members in this medium to interact with the new joiners and address their queries. She also added that the digital onboarding process was conducive to complete the mandatory trainings on Information Security, and Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) in a short span.

Since all of us were assigned buddies, problems were resolved immediately with their help.” He appreciated the quick assistance of the IT team for any troubleshooting and remarks that the whole exercise was well planned and executed by ReBIT.

Sumeet Moolay, Manager, Cyber Security, System Audit vertical, ReBIT: “The induction was conducted in a nice manner. Everything was smooth from the onboarding process to the delivery of official laptop at the residences of new recruits by ReBIT’s team and it is a great achievement for the company.”
Devkaran Chomal, IT Infrastructure Manger, Project Management vertical, ReBIT said that the corporate Mobile Application Management (MAM) software was installed remotely at the outset to facilitate further onboarding steps and this was a great learning experience to his team too. He also added that his team received good feedback from the new joiners.
