Recent breach incidents underscore the need for data security for maintaining the growth momentum of digital payments. Phishing, malware and skimming attacks continue to put data at risks.Some best practices can help mitigate such attacks and reduce possibility of breaches. One of the key considerations is to keep the payments data safe and implement strong data security standards that also includes people, process and technology.

Innovation in the payment industry is drastically changing the approach to payment security and standards. The evolving PCI Standards focus on addressing security concerns in the payments systems. Nitin Bhatnagar

Associate Director, PCI Security Standards Council

Mr Nitin Bhatnagar, Associate Director, PCI Security Standards Council leads the Council’s efforts in increasing adoption and awareness of the PCI Security Standards in India. In this role, Mr Bhatnagar works closely with the Council Management Team, affiliate members, payment brands, regulators, Merchants, Service Providers and key influencers/decision makers from payment card industry. His primary responsibilities include gathering feedback from industry leaders and driving education efforts and by increasing participation from India through active involvement in local and regional events, industry conferences and meetings with key stakeholders.

Mr Bhatnagar's stint with India payment security firm SISA Information Security has equipped him with an unique knowledge of the PCI Security Standards and the powerful impact they can have in securing sensitive data. Mr. Bhatnagar has travelled 55+ countries and has worked with businesses from 60+ nationalities. He possess Bachelor Degree in Computer Science from Bundelkhand University, Jhansi and Master's in Cyber Law and Information Security from Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad, India
